It’s like riding a bike…

…you never forget how.  However, what the famous saying fails to mention is that it’s a lot easier with a modicum of fitness!

After setting up the fenders on the Kona yesterday, I had no excuse but to get out and actually ride it today when I got home from work.  I quickly changed into riding gear (overdressed as it turned out) and hit the road.  Despite being pretty weak from not riding at all this winter, I turned my 15km loop into a 20km route, and had a silly grin on my face the whole time.  The sun was shining, the roads were dry (except Wild Life road for some reason) and the traffic was light.  What more could I ask for?

The fitness will come…it’ll just take a few more of these rides to wake up the legs.  But hey, you gotta’ start somewhere!
